Need to take your fire protection up a notch from the 8 GPM Scotty Foam Applicator?
The 15 GPM Scotty Foam Applicator is a stronger solution for farms, regional parks, lakeside communities, villages or towns – wherever limited access to water is an issue.
Extra Information
If you have a 1 ½” fire hose and access to a corresponding hydrant, our Scotty 15 GPM Foam Applicator Kit helps you quickly extinguish combustible material or ignitable liquid fires. This easy-to-use, end-of-line kit features a bail shut-off and tee assembly that connects to your hose and a 5-litre (1.3 gallon) jug. You can fill that container with Class A or Class B (AFFF) foam, which mixes with your water at a rate of 1 or 3% (consult specifications) then attacks fires at 15 gallons a minute.
Properly used, foam can extend your water usage 10-fold. Follow specifications to find out which eduction (chemical mix) rate – 1 or 3% - is correct for your firefighting needs.
Hose requirements: 1 ½" hose with NHT/NPSH male thread.
Class A foam mixes are effective for fighting fires fueled by combustible materials like wood, including wildfires and structural fires. They are also known as “wetter water” - a mix that can seal off fire’s oxygen supply rather than just evaporating. Its ability to work its way into wood grain makes it a natural pre-treatment protectant for buildings in the path of approaching wildfires.
Class B foam was developed by the U.S. Navy to fight fires fueled by ignitable fluids like gasoline and diesel. The added AFFF classification stands for “Aqueous Film Forming Foam.” It creates a “lighter water” because of its ability to form bubbles, which break down atop the fire and becomes a film that effectively smothers it.
Kit includes:
- Air aspirating foam nozzle
- Bail shut off and tee
- Empty 5-litre (1.3 gallon) container
Manufactured for strength and durability from glass-reinforced nylon.
